It's a cliche to say that your kitchen is the heart of your home, but it often is. If you want to add a special touch, there are lots of accessories you can buy to make your kitchen cabinets look better...or add a function that you need or simply like. Here are some of our favorite kitchen design accessories for 2025, all of which are available to experience in our new Quality Custom Cabinets Inc. display at our showroom.
Let's start with some really cool and functional accessories that are discreet, but designed to make using your kitchen easier and potentially more fun.
Hideaway Steps
It often feels like kitchen cabinets are designed with the assumption everyone is six feet tall. Reaching to get things out of tall cabinets can be awkward and even potentially dangerous if something falls on your head or you loose your balance.
If you're shorter you may even end up wasting space by not using the top shelf. This is where Hideaway Steps come in. They fold away into the space between cabinets, and allow easy access to those high shelves. They're handy in bathrooms or basements with cabinet storage too. Oh, and if you have kids, you can use them to make it easy for them to wash their hands and clean their teeth at the bathroom sink.
Rev-A-Shelf Blind Corner Organizer for Kitchen Cabinets
Cabinet corners are a pain. You often end up shoving stuff into the back only to realize you need it and have to take everything out to get to it. Not convenient for anyone. The Rev-A-Shelf organizer swings out so that you can easily access everything in the corner cabinet. It's also easier to clean than traditional shelving.
This one will save you time and make the corner cabinet more useful. Rev-A-Shelf has a selection of other cool organizers too.
FreePower Wireless Charging Built-Ins
Nowadays, we use our phone or tablet to read that recipe we downloaded off the internet. Wireless charging in your kitchen makes sure that you're still fine if you forget to charge. It can be built into your countertops and all you have to do is put your device on the highlighted area of the surface. Once you get in the habit of it, you will always have a charged phone. Works well in home offices and workshops too. Check out FreePower for your next kitchen and bath upgrade.
Vegetable Storage Bins
If you’ve ever struggled with where to store non-refrigerated vegetables, like potatoes and onions, we’ve got a beautiful solution for you. Our below-counter vegetable bins store your vegetables discreetly within base cabinetry while keeping them within easy reach for cooking your favorite meal. These pull-out bins use a wood frame and wire mesh baskets to let vegetables “breathe” reducing the spoilage found with dried-out refrigerated vegetables. Ask our designers for details.
If you want to upgrade the look of your kitchen, here are a few ideas for spicing up your kitchen cabinets and spaces:
Decorative Wire Mesh Screens and Panels
Decorative wire mesh can be used for an interesting cabinet front. Use a wider mesh to show off items inside. Wire mesh screens also work well for privacy and can be added to other kinds of furniture.
These create unique aesthetics...you can get anything from simple squares to poultry wire to herringbone, depending on the look you prefer and how opaque you want the screen. You can also get a variety of finishes to match your existing cabinets. Check out Van Dykes Restores for the latest ideas.
Leather Drawer Fronts and Veneers
Leather? In the kitchen? Believe it or not you can use leather anywhere you would normally use wood veneer.
EcoDomo offers sustainable leather products and fabrication that takes leather to a new level giving leather veneers a natural and luxurious touch. Imagine using leather for cabinetry fronts, furniture, ceilings, stairs, and more. Sustainable and beautiful, what more could you ask for in high-end kitchen cabinet design?
Steeplechase Collection
The cabinets in our display all come from the Quality Custom Cabinetry Steeplechase Collection of inset cabinetry. These cabinets offer easy customization, diverse door types, and a variety of useful and elegant accessories including cabinet organizers, drawer organizers, wine glass holders, etc.
